Advanced Security Features Include:

• No in-suite Hardware required in our On-Net buildings - Most successful network intrusions result from poorly configured in-suite routers or firewalls.
• Active Port Defense - Almost all attacks start off with a port scan of the network. The APD system tracks all such scans as well as activity on known ‘threat’ ports (such as port 111). When a scan is detected, the APD system bans the attacking address from the network, shutting out the attacker entirely before the actual attack is even launched. Suspicious activity is logged and reported to the
  systems administrators. This is the first line of defense for all customers wanting epiknetworks advanced security features.
• Stateful Firewall - The full Firewall service comes with Network Address Translation, Port Forwarding, VPN support and a host of other features. The system protects the network against almost all types of attacks from outside of the network.
  Intrusion Detection System - The Intrusion Detection System offers additional security against hackers attempting to bypass or gain access to the firewall. The IDS will lock out hackers and alert the system administrators. All logs are stored at a central server location and backed up regularly, that means all attempts at intrusion are tracked and reported.
• DMZ Zone Filtering - This is for customers wishing to use real-world routable IP addresses, but still wanting the additional security and protection.
