Unified Messaging
Unified Messaging allows users
to access their voice mail from their favorite
e-mail program.
The epik M6 automatically stores
voice mail messages from callers when users are
away from their phones when a user is provisioned
with the Voice Mail feature. All voice mailboxes
are secure and can be accessed from any of the
following sources:
• an IP or analog DTMF
telephone
• Microsoft Outlook or
other standard e-mail client.
• any touch-tone phone
external to the system
• the Web
Portal application settings determine the
number (and length) of voice mail messages that
are stored for each mailbox.
The following features are provided:
• Unified Messaging
– Unified messaging lets users access their
voice mail directly from their e-mail program.
Whenever a new voice mail message is received,
the system attaches the voice mail to an e-mail
message and sends it to the user’s e-mail
address.
Caller ID information is included
with the message (if this Caller ID information
is supplied with the call) so users can see who
left the message before it is played.
• Message Forwarding
– Users can forward voice mail messages
to other users to quickly disseminate information.
• Caller ID with
Date/Time Stamping – Before a user
listens to a message, the caller is identified
by the caller’s name and number (if this
Caller ID information is supplied with the call).
The date and time of the message is also announced.
